WELCOME HOME TO TWIN SPIRES

One-floor living and great design attract couple

They spent a lot of time looking for the right home. After being married for 50 years, Robert and Suzanne Winstel wanted to downsize into a single-floor home. They had decided to build a ranch home in Batavia until they looked at Fischer Homes patio homes in Twin Spires at Lexington Run.

"The openness and brightness of this design was the main reason we loved this house," said Robert, who works for an industrial heating and air conditioning company. "We also loved the one-floor living and all the storage in the basement."

Suzanne, a volunteer at the couple's church, said another critical need for her was a dining room that would fit her unusual octagonal brass and glass table. The table was a 25th anniversary present from Robert and it was a "must use" item.

"It fits beautifully," Suzanne said. "Another thing I love is the simplicity of this home. There's a lot to be said for that."

Suzanne is also excited to be working with her Interior Decorator to make the home her own. "The table sets the theme and we are just going from there," Suzanne said.

They found the right house to make a home

Suzanne, who loves to cook, was particular about her kitchen's design. She said after donating tons of cookbooks, she still has more than 100. "I don't know how good I am, but I know I love it," said Suzanne.

Suzanne said she knows building a home can be a stressful situation for a couple, even a couple married for 50 years. But she said that was not the case with their patio home.

"We built a house and didn't divorce!" Suzanne laughed. "That says a lot."

The couple credit the sales counselor for making the process easy.
