Arlene Wayt loved her new condo so much that she decided to sell them.
Arlene was living at Otterbein Retirement Community in Lebanon and knew it wasn't for her. She wanted to live in her own home and have more privacy. As she drove by the Fischer Homes Willow Lake at Heritage Green community off of Route 63, she liked what she saw.
"They showed me a model, and I came back and bought it," Arlene said. "They were really great, really." But Arlene's relationship with Fischer Homes grew even more when sales counselor Margarita Watkins asked Arlene to be her assistant. "I hadn't worked in 54 years, so I had to think about it. But I love it. It is very interesting."
Arlene, 79, has two grown children and is very active, coordinating the choir at Otterbein Retirement Community. She says her condo is very convenient to her friends and interests. "Anytime you like something so much, it becomes home. Knowing your neighbors makes it home, too."
Arlene's musical talents also have her playing handbells at lunches, churches and retirement centers. She actually played the violin for 35 years and attended Otterbien College on a music scholarship. She says people often ask her why she bought a condo instead of staying at a retirement home. Arlene simply answers: "I wanted my own place."
Enjoying A New Community
Arlene is kept busy enough with her friends, family, job, and music. But amenities at Willow Lake at Heritage Green could entertain Arlene even more. A modern clubhouse is also available for rent, and the gazebo by the lake is a relaxing place for Arlene to read or just enjoy the scenery.
