Debbie Fox uses her design talents to make her new house a home.
Debbie Fox speaks with enthusiasm about her new Patio Home in Royal Troon at Legendary Run, noting the arched doorways and textured walls. Debbie, an interior decorator and former graphic designer, bought her Fischer Home for many reasons - style being just one.
Debbie sold her Mt. Lookout home and downsized to an apartment after losing her husband in 2002. Two years later, she was ready for a home, but didn't want the maintenance of a house and yard. She heard about the Fischer Homes' Royal Troon development during Homearama, and drove out to see the spacious Patio Homes.
"I drove out to the model home and loved it," Debbie said. "I went home, slept on it, and drove back the next day to buy my home." She said the 3,200-square-foot house sold itself - the 10-foot ceilings, hardwood floors, open kitchen and great room were features that met her needs. She also loves her finished lower level, with its game room and wet bar.
Debbie is now helping others in her community create the homes of their dreams. Having started her own interior design business, Reflections of Style Interiors, in the summer of 2004, she already has four clients within Royal Troon that have called upon her interior design skills. With people moving into a "blank slate," as Debbie says, they are ready to invest in new furniture and decorations - and she loves helping them put it all together. Enjoying A New Community
Debbie and her dog Gidget have sunk right into their new home - taking full advantage of the amenities provided. She spends warm days at the pool and enjoys spending time with her neighbors. She and Gidget also enjoy long walks through the community's hike and bike trails. Debbie often walks five miles several times per week.
Because of the feeling of home and ease of a maintenance-free yard and landscape, Debbie knows she will enjoy her Royal Troon Patio Home for many years to come. And, with her interior design skills, her neighbors will enjoy their homes even more, too.
